Overview:

The El Dorado County Transportation Commission (EDCTC) is the designated Regional Transportation Planning Agency (RTPA) for El Dorado County.  As the RTPA, the EDCTC serves as the planning and programming authority for transportation projects on the western slope of El Dorado County, excluding those areas within the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency boundaries.  The EDCTC serves as the Airport Land Use Commission and manages the Freeway Service Patrol for US Highway 50 in El Dorado County.

Program Highlights:

EDCTC transportation planning includes various modes of transportation to encourage efficiency, equity, and to improve air quality including:

Plans are developed for various communities, bicycle and pedestrian trails, airport compatibility, and short- and long-range transit planning, among others.  Studies have been done on agritourism, tourism impacts, safety, corridor specific, transit ridership, and more.

The Commission is comprised of three Councilmembers representing the City of Placerville, four El Dorado County Supervisors, one ex-officio member representing Caltrans District 3 and one ex officio member representing the City of South Lake Tahoe.
