The Deputy Director for Transit Operations and Planning is responsible for providing a safe and efficient transportation system by planning, organizing, and directing transit operations and a service planning team. The service planning team is comprised of four professional planners overseeing a turnkey contract operations team of approximately 100 bus operators, mechanics, dispatchers, and managers. The position works collaboratively with neighboring transit providers and regional planning agencies to coordinate services and enhance regional connectivity.
The Deputy Director for Transit Operations and Planning reports to the Executive Director and plays a pivotal role in the District’s success by providing day-to-day management oversight for all transit services. The position is responsible for overseeing the contract for bus, ADA paratransit, and microtransit operations, implementing service changes, and overseeing long-range planning. This position is also responsible for managing the District’s transit fleet, which currently includes 70 vehicles.
